Translation (English to German)

I’ve translated over 70 books from English to German across fantasy, science fiction, romance, horror, and more. As a native German speaker and writer myself, I know how to translate your book both truthfully and naturally. That includes localisations for titles, poems, references etc.

All translations consist of two passes, a translation and an editing pass. Bookings are limited and are often booked well in advance.

Novels

  • free 5-page trial translation available (please enquire)
  • standard turn-around for up to 70,000 words: 2 months (longer works will be booking over two or more slots)
  • 50% deposit up front upon booking, final payment upon delivery
  • communication throughout the translation process via preferred contact mode

  • includes blurb rewriting to fit the German market, trope finding, and tips for compliance and marketing

Illustration

While drawing all my life, I’m fairly new to digital illustration. At the moment, I’m offering mostly character art in either chibi or semi-realistic style. Fully rendered illustrations to come.

Fantasy Map consultation

As a former geologist and map enthusiast, I’m happy to help you make sure that your fantasy map has no uphill-flowing rivers (unless you want them to do that). A surprising number of fantasy maps has blatant geological flaws that have no magical or divine explanation. This happens when the map is only considered in a 2D space instead of the 3D environment it represents. I’m happy to have a look at your sketch before you send it to your illustrator and apply my knowledge about landforms and geology to your world.

  • includes a letter listing all present errors and potential pitfalls + a visual representation
  • also includes ideas on how to fix the issues
